Really pleased to be invited back to the Caboolture Regional Gallery to participate in the “The Drawing Room” for the exhibition on the Glasshouse Mountains. The exhibition is fantastic – especially the Lawrence Daws work.

The Drawing Room is a chance for people to come in to the gallery and either draw with input from the artists there, or just watch and talk with them. The materials are supplied by the gallery.

My two works from the first Drawing Room experience, drawn in the gallery of the bonsai from life, (see previous blog post) were on display for this event, along with drawings produced by other invited artists.

I completed two drawings (amidst much laughter and companionship from the several attendees). The first one I did on Art Spectrum paper which I had collaged with cheesecloth. I spent some time arranging the threads of this cloth to enhance the Glasshouse Mountains theme. I completed this drawing with charcoal and white pastel, and gave it to the Gallery for their collection.

This detail photo shows the collaged cloth under the drawing.

The second drawing I did with ink on watercolour paper. Firstly I brushed on water and ink, then completed the drawing with ink and a liner brush, and an ink pen. This one I sold to one of the people there in attendance drawing along with us.

This detail photo shows the ink pen work added after the brush work.

A wonderful day – hope I get invited back for another one!
