Another great group of people enthusiastically exploring drawing with texture on paper and drawing with charcoal on canvas, gathered in Redcliffe on the 18th and 19th March. Double left click on image to enlarge.
I continued to work on the drawing on paper with charcoal and white pastel pencils, until I felt the texture of the grasses against the rocks was sufficient.
Drawing on Textured Art Spectrum Colourfix paper.
The canvas drawing – I placed a Transparent Yellow glaze behind the pelicans; and a cerulean blue wash over the bottom section of the canvas.

I continued to highlight with black and white Atelier free Flow acrylic and a liner brush, and spattered dots.

I wrote the poem, signed and varnished the work.
“Still waters; soft lapping;
a quiet settles down.
Music notes; muted longing;
a sky’s golden crown.
Pattern of the day’s end.”
