Another Canvas Reused with Tissue Technique
Here are some progression photos of the tissue technique that is a great way to reuse an old canvas (described in my two books available www.triciareust.com.au) Cover the canvas with tissue paper and Atelier Binder Medium, then paint red. Draw up the composition with black paint. This image shows the first cover of paint dry brushed over the texture, enabling the red to show through. I have created this painting with Atelier A2 paint, a great paint for students which is artist quality. The technique of dry brushing is also explained in my books. The completed still life which has

Demo for students Westside Christian College 28th March 2023
An enthusiastic grade 10 welcomed me yesterday to their art house - what a great spot! The group is going to do a mixed media work next term so I demonstrated the design principles for collage and how to place different collage elements; printing, stamping and stencilling; applying texture and working with drawings and prints on tissue paper. There were some interesting questions, and I thoroughly enjoyed being with these young people. Thank you to their teacher Rachel for inviting me along.
Logan Artists Association workshop results 25/26 March 2023
A great group of artists welcomed me to their studio for a weekend workshop - mixed media on canvas, and it was obvious that they enjoy working together as they powered on through the workshop. Thankyou to the organisers of the event and to Betty for your delicious fruit kebabs for lunch!
Finalist 1st International Pastels Plus Exhibition
Thrilled to be a finalist in the first International Pastel Plus Exhibition, for artists combining soft pastel with other mediums. Thank you to the Central Massachusetts Pastel Society USA for hosting the exhibition and organising the competition. It is wonderful to see explorations with different art media being recognised.

Art and Books Accepted in The Good Egg Gallery!
Around 3 kms along Mt Glorious Road from the roundabout in Samford, the Good Egg Gallery is in a house full of character. Deb Pettigrew has accepted my art and books in the gallery, including this 34.5 square cm work "Desert Flare". The Good Egg Gallery, 345 Mt Glorious Road, Highvale, Qld. Open 10 to 3 Thursday through Sunday. The gallery will be part of the Open Art trail in June.
Sobering presentation on inauthentic Aboriginal Art – PSA March 2023
Michael J Connolly from Dreamtime Kullilla-Art presented a talk on his own art and business development as well as the art sold throughout Australia as Aboriginal Art which is not authentic. Michael and his wife Jo have an established business selling authentic Aboriginal Art, as well as mentoring youth, offering workshops and instructions on how to make and play didgeridoos, and speaking to Councils and other community groups.
