I enjoyed creating a small pastel landscape which began as a demo piece showing collage on paper in preparation for a pastel work.

This is the Art Spectrum Colourfix board with the collage elements attached using Atelier Binder Medium, to seal and create an archival and acid-free work.

A layer of Art Spectrum clear pastel primer is placed over the collage elements and textured while still wet with a comb. When dry, a layer of a mauve pastel is applied over this.

This layer of pastel is pushed in with water and a brush and allowed to dry. I placed this in the sun during the drying period.

Above in this image an initial layer of soft pastel has been placed in the sky.

Soft pastel is added to create the landscape.

More pastel is dry brushed over the texture to complete the work. “It Will Come” – Pastel on Prepared paper 30 cm h by 26.5 cms w
