I have completed a small study of a child, experimenting with glazing of colours over collage.
This is the canvas with the printed napkins pieces collaged on applied with Atelier Binder Medium, and a green acrylic mix applied with Atelier Thin Medium.

Here I have begun placing the head with Atelier Red Gold.

Mixing the flesh colours.

Beginning to place the under-flesh colours.

Adding some darks and working out the placement of the hair.

Volume of hair decided, and beginning to add background with a palette knife to catch the texture of the collaged elements, with the same green mix as used originally. Preparing the glazes now to bring the portrait to a finish.

Mixing the glazes and preparing for highlights added in with the liner brush.

The completed child study – 8 by 10 inch canvas.
