Yesterday I co-judged the Queensland Quilters Inc State of the Art ’23 competition, with Bernadine Hine. What a privilege to examine the exquisite stitching, competent design and breadth of colour presented in this show!
Bernadine and I had no hesitation in selecting the clear winner, but the subsequent awards were difficult and caused much discussion due to the number of works which could have been worthy of selection.
The exhibition will be touring in some venues within Queensland over the next few months – keep an eye out for the show.

The image here is from a friendship quilt that friends in the USA made for my family when we left Michigan and came back to settle in Australia. One friend even did a patch showing our little farm with the mailbox out the front and the VW in the driveway! It is a treasured gift.
