Two Day Pastel Landscape Workshop Longreach

This is a workshop to expand the use of pastel. We will look at brief theory of design, particularly for collage; how pastel can be used as a wet medium as well as dry; pastel underpaintings; and texturing paper for pastel. Participants can choose to work in a traditional manner or a more contemporary approach. Tricia’s teaching process includes theory, handouts and demonstrations.

Two Day Mixed Media Workshop Barcaldine

This workshop includes looking at the processes for professionally including drawings in collage on canvas. We will be working on two gessoed canvases, one smaller (about 10 by 12 inches or 11 by 14 inches or thereabouts) and one at least 24 x 30 inches. On the first day we will briefly cover basic design principles; look at preparation of drawings for collage; and collage the canvas surfaces. On the second day we will complete the works with paint and/or dry drawing media. Bring along any drawings you’d like to use.

Demonstration – RAS Open Day 65th Anniversary Celebration

I will be demonstrating art techniques from 9am to 2pm on this special day for the Redcliffe Art Society on the celebration on being 65 years in existence. I am proud to be a Life Member. There is a specail exhibition of works from past winners of the RASart exhibitions including works from the Council Collection.

Glazing with Pastel

Discover how to subtly shift, soften, or “grey down” colour using pastel glazing techniques. In this demonstration, Tricia Reust will show how delicate layers of pastel can transform existing colours, adjust mood, and refine harmony within a painting. A practical and insightful session for artists wanting more nuanced colour control.
