Almost finished that Challenge
I wrote on 5th August about having accepted a challenge from a friend to create something using materials I have never used before - and how difficult that was. Almost finished - stay posted!
2nd in Pastel at EKKA

Completed “Jim’s Visitor”
I began this work as a demonstration piece at the Avid Reader book signing on 20th Jul y- thnak you to all those who came along. The drawing is from a visitor to a friend's house - a very cheeky butcher bird.
Playing with Atelier Artists Inks Bundaberg Aug 19th and 20th 2023
Come along and play with Atelier Artists Pigmented Inks - supplied through the generosity of Chroma. The first day (Saturday August 19th) we will do exercises in using the inks - mixing them, watering them down, splashing and glazing and splattering etc! An Interesting Challenge
I have accepted a challenge from a friend to create something on a surface or using media that I have never used before. Thinking of what I have done over the years, I have created on many surfaces, linen and cotton canvases; many types of papers including all weights of watercolour, cartridge, pastel and charcoal papers, paper doilies, pianola paper, newspaper, brown paper, cardboards; walls of buildings; fences of playgrounds, doors and windows, garden sheds, caravans and motor homes; bricks, besser block; glass, ceramics, pottery; metal saws; tin; human skin (never sought permission from animals); fabrics, bags, jackets; wooden boards,
Lino cut Print on Canvas
I played around with one of my lino cut prints today - collaged it on a small canvas; coloured it with acrylic paint, and stencilled around it. Lino Lizard - 8 by 10 inch canvas.
