I was pleased to hear that my drawing “Dry Bed Silverton” was awarded Third Place in the RAS Members’ Exhibition – which is a colourful display of members’ art works most welcome at this time. The RAS comprises generous people who work hard to enable the opportunities for the members, and who have made special efforts in maintaining a gallery open to the public with appropriate Covid- aware practices.

Congratulations to all the other RAS members whose work caught the judge’s eye, and to the members who contributed to the show. This drawing is of the river bed in Silverton where I did some sketching on a camping trip with my father and sister many years ago. I textured the paper, (half sheet Art Spectrum Colourfix) washed in mauve pastel, then completed the work with charcoal and white pastel.

From now through the 13th September, the Redcliffe Art Society Members’ Exhibition is open to the public.

Old Fire Station Gallery, 395 Oxley Avenue in Redcliffe Wednesdays through Sundays 10 am to 3 pm. Phone 32840852

“Dry Bed Silverton” (along with others of my works) is available in any size on paper or canvas as a giclee reproduction with a signed certificate of authenticity.
